How to share your call's audio in Chrome
Earshot hears the other person through the browser tab your call is in. Here's how to share it, even with headphones on.
Earshot listens to two things during a live call: your microphone (to know when you're talking) and the audio of the tab your call is in (to hear the other person).
Step by step
- Open your call in a Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge tab (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams or Webex in the browser).
- In Earshot, open your call plan and press Start listening. Chrome asks for your microphone: allow it.
- Chrome then asks what to share. Pick the Chrome tab with your call.
- Make sure Also share tab audio is switched on, then press Share.
Once it works, the live screen shows Hearing them next to Their voice.
Good to know
- Headphones are fine: tab audio is shared directly, not through your speakers.
- If you closed the share by mistake, press Share next to Their voice to pick the tab again.
- Desktop call apps (outside the browser) can't share tab audio. Use the browser version of your call tool for the best results.
